Eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables daily (2 tablespoons).
Eat fresh fruits and vegetables such as raw bananas, pears, strawberries, apples, etc.
Do not use salt or pepper on fruits or vegetables until after cooking; they will be bitter. These items include fresh herbs and spices.

How many calories I have to burn? The maximum amount of calories you should consume in a day is 2,200. 1 pound of meat is equal to about 300 calories, so 3 pounds of chicken is about 600 calories! 1 pound of cheese is 800 calories, so 5 pounds of Gruyere cheese is about 900 calories. You can even eat 2 pounds of frozen fish every day! This is because the nutrients in that diet have been stored, which means your body doesn’t need them anymore once they are digested! Two good fat sources of this type of diet are: omega-3 fatty acids from fish, and the mono and polyunsaturated fats from olive oil and nuts.
This diet does have some drawbacks though. For instance, eating too much protein is thought to cause weight gain instead of being beneficial for health. Therefore, ensure that there is enough protein in the diet.
How much do I avoid meat / meat products? There are four types you are advised to avoid when it comes to meat and meat products:
Protein — is red meats, poultry, fish, etc., and eggs.
Carbohydrates — these are the sugars that are found in breads, cakes, biscuits, rice, pasta, cereal, etc.
Fats — are meats, seafood, pork, meat, and other animals that have fat in their flesh.
Sugar-free fats — these fats are found commonly in margarine, spreads, syrups’, butter, etc. Sugar-free fats help reduce cholesterol levels, but this may not be good for your heart and/or other organs when it comes to type 2 diabetes.
Fatty acid-free fats—these fats are the fats that get deposited in your liver over time. This means less production of cholesterol, but more in your blood, which then increases the risk of heart disease.
How much sugar is in my meals? Eating too much sugar in your meals has been associated with a higher risk of obesity and diabetes!
So how much sugar am I allowed to eat? In general, people should be eating no more than 6 teaspoons of sugar a day. However, if you want to eat healthier and maintain a sustainable weight, you can eat an occasional sweet treat like ice cream and chocolate!
Water should do I drink in a day? Many people don’t realize that they drink a lot of water every day, with one third of those drinking between six to ten cups per day! If we want our bodies to function properly, we need adequate amounts of water throughout our whole lives. Your urine contains water, so it should be kept up to speed for about twenty minutes!
